GOOGLE ANDROID SMARTPHONES ARE NO.1 CHOICE OF U.S. CONSUMERS

The constant release of new PC tablets, mobile devices and smartphones are directly linked to the increasing innovation in these areas. Technological improvements and progress creates a need for more compact and modern mobile products.
This has been confirmed by recent findings from Nielsen. Their new data show that the Smartphone market is extremely competitive and this may leave consumers with something of a challenge when they need to choose their new smartphone.
The three leading smartphone manufacturers have long fought for the lead but Google’s Android models have finally taken the lead. New data shows that U.S. consumers buy Android phones more than any other Smartphone on the market. Both the Blackberry and iPhone have held shares of 27 percent for the past year, while Google’s Android currently hold 29 percent of the U.S. smartphone market.
Android gives consumers more choice, this is far from the somewhat low-tech Samsung Intercept to the high end with Motorola Droid Pro. Android offers a large variety of manufacturers as the OS can be changed so that the features, models and the overall user experience varies widely from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Nielsen explains that when it comes to producers then RIM and Apple winners, since they are the only one who both creates and sells Smartphones with their respective operating systems. They add that HTC’s consumers have 12% a HTC Android device and 7% own a HTC device running Microsoft OS. At Motorola, it is 10% and 1% of consumers who have Android and Microsoft OS.
