ENTRY LEVEL ANDROID HANDSETS TO CROSS 20 MILLION MARK IN 2011

The company expects that these budget models priced below US $150 would reach sales figures between 20 and 25 million. This jump from 2.5 to 3 million in 2010 is stupendous. This figure of 20 plus millions is expected to be sold globally.
According to Digitime suggestions Chinese and Taiwanese chips would be the driving force behind OEMs to make budget handsets that could capture emerging markets easily. Chinese market alone is expected to buy 10 to 13 million of these entry level cellular phones. Boost Mobile announced Samsung Galaxy Prevail model at US $179.99. This entry level handset is an attractive option for prepaid customers.
